PGA Golf: US Open Favorites

The US Open is being held at the pristine Pebble Beach next week and the course itself sets up for some of the best long ball hitters in the PGA. Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood and yes, even Tiger Woods are the early favorites as the US Open draws closer.

Phil Mickelson

Phil Mickelson, sportsbook star, is hitting his stride as he prepares for the US Open and once he walks out onto the first tee at Pebble Beach, he should be setting the mark for everyone to beat. If Mickelson bursts out of the box early and leads the US Open at the end of the day on Thursday, it won’t matter much what the rest of the field does.

Lee Westwood

Lee Westwood has shown he can compete for a PGA Major and if he is in the mix on Saturday, he can make a solid run at Mickelson or Tiger Woods on Sunday. Westwood is a solid ball striker and he is near perfect on the greens. The two traits needed to win a US Major, especially a US Major at Pebble Beach.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods loves Pebble Beach. He has taken strides to make sure this is where he will pull out of his funk. Tiger has lost a little distance and a little accuracy at the moment but when he focuses on a target such as the US Open he can make it happen. Pebble Beach is Tiger’s favorite and he will prove it in this US Open.
